Last time Australia won the trophy was during 2014. India won the first test at Perth. Australia won the 2nd, 4th and 5th at Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney. Virat kholi scored a century in the ist test and again KL rahul scored 75. Brilliant display from the bowlers as well like jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed siraj, Akash deep, etc. but after the ist test. India couldn’t hold the nerves and they were outsmart from the Aussies. From the Australian point of view in 2nd test, Travis head scored a brilliant century and smith went century as well. Pat cummins took 6 wickets in the 2nd innings and Mitchell starc took 5 wickets in the ist innings. indians were all out at 180 in the ist innings and after that they couldn’t chase the target of Australia.
Summary of Third and Fourth Test: Gavaskar Trophy
3rd Test was draw and there was diffferent atmosphere at the MCG. Sam konstas scored brilliant 60 and Smith and Labuschagne performed well along with Australia were tight surpassing the score of 400 and after that nitesh kumar reddy and Ravindra Jadeja played really well as Indian top order failed to perform. but bowlers did the good job.
Moving on to the final test at sydney, Australia completely hammered the indians as they won the series by 3-1.
